Write Up: This project was fun as it was a little different from single family remodel’s that most of my time at Board & Vellum had been and it had the personal benefit that it was for our own office.

As commercial projects typically go, a quick turn around on this project was important and the design and permitting of this project moved quickly from the time we signed the lease. The existing space was a bank that resembled a trendy 90s aesthetic, so there was an extensive renovation to take place converting this to an office the resembled the qualities of Board & Vellum.

The entire office worked on the design and my role largely came in once construction started to help coordinate and answer questions as part of construction observation. I found it was useful towards the later part of construction to simply work on site to answer questions as soon as they arose to keep the whole construction crew on task.

There were some long days to keep this project on track and I formed a great relationship with the contractor due to this. The office space turned out great and in return created an enjoyable space for all.
